Erasmus+ project coordinator Sonja Karbon selected for EU campaign #EUwomen4future
The European Commission's campaign showcases exceptional women who are active in research, innovation, education, culture and sports.
The initiative was launched by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. By means of their examples the nominated women convey the message that gender equality is fundamental to a prosperous and just society. They encourage women and girls in the whole EU and beyond to search for opportunities and fulfil their professional and personal aspirations.
Sonja Karbon from the association Verein Frauen im Brennpunkt (FiB) (Women in Focus) in Tyrol was selected by the European Commission to be part of this campaign. Karbon has already coordinated several Erasmus+ projects in vocational education and training and adult education. At the FiB association she heads the Women's Career Centre Tyrol and the EU Project Management Department. Her work contributes to gender equality through various activities: advising women on re-entering the labour market and raising awareness of issues that she and her team also deal with in Erasmus+ projects.
