OeAD welcomes the foundation of the new Science Communication Centre
The centre represents a much-demanded step towards a centre for science communication for the general public. The OeAD therefore also sees the Science Communication Center as an important hub that offers scientists a platform to make their research accessible to the general public and at the same time promote dialogue between science and research.
Jakob Calice, Managing Director of the OeAD, comments: ‘Through programmes such as Sparkling Science, the OeAD has been promoting cooperation between schools and science for many years. Our aim is to increase young people's interest in research and their understanding of the central role of science in our society. The future Science Communication Centre promises to be an important point of reference for this. It will move science and research further into the centre of society and give it an appropriate location in the heart of the capital. We look forward to integrating the new centre into our activities.’
From the OeAD's point of view, the centre can make an important contribution to promoting understanding and trust in science and support the communication of scientific findings on an equal footing.
