30.11.2023

The EU Commission has published the 2024 call for projects for Erasmus+, the EU programme for education, youth and sport. A total of 4.3 billion euros will be available next year.

More money for mobility and projects

More than 64.5 million euros will flow from Brussels for Austria. Erasmus+ Education will receive 57.3 million euros in funding in 2024, Erasmus+ Youth will receive around 7.2 million euros and Erasmus+ Sport will receive over 200,000 euros in European funding. Applications can be submitted to the OeAD, the national agency for Erasmus+. "Erasmus+ makes an important contribution to communicating European values," says OeAD Managing Director Jakob Calice. "The Erasmus+ priority of participation in democratic life will be a particular focus in the coming year with the elections to the European Parliament - the European elections."

About Erasmus+

Erasmus+ enables stays abroad and promotes European and global cooperation. Cross-border mobility for people of all ages, cooperation within the framework of European projects and support for political reforms are central tasks of Erasmus+ and give international impetus to Austrian education and youth policy. All public and private organisations active in the fields of education, training, youth and sport can submit applications for Erasmus+ projects. Projects are funded within Europe and in some cases also worldwide.

In the current Erasmus+ programme generation 2021 to 2027, Europe is investing 28.4 billion euros in Europe-wide and international exchanges. From 2021 to 2027, Austria will receive around 666 million euros for Erasmus+ from the European Union's funding pot. 331.000 people from Austria from all areas of education, youth and sport are expected to gain experience abroad during the current programme period. The OeAD, Austria's Agency for Education and Internationalisation, is the national agency responsible for the implementation of Erasmus+ - on behalf of the BMBWF, BKA, BMKÖS and the European Commission.
