OeAD welcomes Research, Technology and Innovation Pact 2024–2026

Five billion euros create planning and financing security for research and funding institutions
21.12.2022

Research, technology and innovation are of central importance when it comes to overcoming challenges such as the climate and energy crisis. The RTI Pact operationalises the goals and fields of action of the RTI Strategy 2030 and defines strategic research and innovation policy priorities. The OeAD – Austria's Agency for Education and Internationalisation – is one of several federal institutions responsible for implementing the strategy.

"With these ambitious and concrete goals the Federal Government makes a strong and trend-setting commitment to the importance of research, technology and innovation. International cooperation is just as much a prerequisite emphasised in the pact as strengthening trust and interest in science. The OeAD supports this by promoting international as well as national cooperation between different partners," emphasises the OeAD’s managing director Jakob Calice on the occasion of the FTI Pact adopted by today's Council of Ministers.

About the OeAD
The OeAD is Austria's agency for education and internationalisation. For more than 60 years we have been advising, supporting and connecting people and institutions in education, science, research and culture with our future-oriented programmes. As an agency of the Republic of Austria the OeAD thus contributes to inclusive, equal and high-quality education. The OeAD is active in Austria, Europe and internationally in priority countries. The OeAD is the interface to educational offers for all ages – from kindergarten and school education to higher education and science, vocational education and training and adult education. European and international exchange and transnational mobility serve as important tools for the Agency. As national agency the OeAD is responsible, among other things, for the implementation of Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps in Austria.
