Hands-on learning: OeAD opens doors to exciting educational experiences Austria’s Education Agency OeAD supports schools with a wide range of funding opportunities and inspires innovation. At the start of the school year 2023/24 Austria’s Education Agency OeAD presents a wide range of opportunities for schools all over Austria. As the leading national funding agency in school education the OeAD presents a wide range of initiatives that open up innovative teaching opportunities for schools. From international exchanges to collaborations with renowned research and cultural institutions the offerings cover an impressive range. These initiatives are mainly funded by the European Commission and the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF). The OeAD school folder is a comprehensive source of information for headmasters and headmistresses and teachers who want to get a quick overview of the diverse OeAD initiatives. This folder contains information about funding opportunities for workshops, excursions, stays abroad but also references to teaching materials for specific areas or which quality-assured digital learning apps are available to make teaching innovative. Some of the prominent programmes offered by the OeAD on behalf of the BMBWF and the European Commission are the following: Erasmus+ and eTwinning: these programmes offer pupils and teachers the opportunity to go abroad, gain international experience and also carry out digital exchange projects.Sparkling Science 2.0: Here pupils can carry out real research projects with scientists to experience science in practice.Cultural education with schools: Through programmes such as Kultur:Bildung (Culture:Education) cooperation between schools, artists and cultural institutions is supported in order to integrate culture and arts into classroom teaching.ERINNERN:AT: A programme dedicated to teaching and learning about National Socialism and Holocaust by offering in-service training and seminars for teachers.Digital learning device initiative: By equipping 5th grade pupils with digital devices and offering free webinars for teachers the OeAD supports the integration of digital media in classroom teaching. The OeAD, Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation, works on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and implements a wide range of educational activities and priorities to support schools. The OeAD is also the national agency for the implementation of Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.
