Education Agency OeAD welcomes the BMBWF’s DNAustria campaign "As Austria's education agency we welcome the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF)'s new DNAustria campaign and are delighted to be on board as a partner. With the new website a wide range of offers and events can be presented together – in a simple and clear way," says the OeAD’s managing director Jakob Calice. The DNAustria campaign and the new website www.dnaustria.at were presented today by the minister for education, science and research, Martin Polaschek. "In our work together with Austria's schools we see how trust in science can be strengthened. When you get to interact with scientists and learn how scientific knowledge is created fear of contact is reduced. The high point for us is when children and young people are inspired to become scientists or researchers themselves," emphasises the OeAD’s managing director Jakob Calice. The 2021 Eurobarometer survey showed that measures to strengthen confidence in science are needed in Austria. The OeAD makes an important contribution to this in its Public Science sector with numerous projects and networking activities in citizen science and science communication. The aim is to promote co-operation between science, schools and society and to strengthen interest in scientific research. The OeAD's Young Science initiatives facilitate science education at schools in a variety of ways. These include visits by scientists to schools, the implementation of the BMBWF’s research initiative Sparkling Science 2.0 and the promotion and support of children's and youth universities.
