10 million euros for international study and research stays BMBWF and OeAD call for applications for the academic year 2022/23 The OeAD, Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation, invites applications for internationally oriented scholarship and grant programmes for the academic year 2022/2023. Ten million euros in funding are available for these. The grants and scholarships are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) and managed and implemented by the OeAD. The minister of science, Heinz Faßmann, emphasises: “The funding programmes for high-quality stays abroad support the internationalisation of higher education, promote global cooperation and present Austria as an attractive country for education, higher education and science and research.” The aim of scholarships like Ernst Mach, CEEPUS, and Marietta Blau is to enable international study and research stays. The programmes are aimed at either Austrian or international students, lecturers and researchers. Furthermore, institutional cooperation between Austrian and international higher education and research institutions is promoted. The OeAD’s managing director Jakob Calice says: “The incoming and outgoing programmes range from geographically and thematically broad offers to scholarships for specific disciplines and regionally oriented funding schemes. Moreover, we provide information about study opportunities and living conditions in Austria via our website www.studyinaustria.at.” The various calls for applications including detailed information about target groups, application requirements, funding amounts, duration and closing dates for application are published in the databasegrants.at. Grants.at is Austria’s largest online database for scholarships and research grants for all academic fields. More than 1,200 scholarships, research grants, awards and internal university funding options are continuously posted and updated in the database by 25 funding agencies and organisations. The database is an initiative of the BMBWF and the OeAD and was expanded within the framework of “Euraxess – Researchers in Motion” with financial support from the EU. It is aimed at students, postgraduates and also researchers and scientific institutions. For 60 years the OeAD has been advising, supporting and connecting people and institutions in education, science, research and culture with its future-oriented programmes. As an agency of the Republic of Austria the OeAD thus contributes to inclusive, equal and high-quality education. The OeAD’s fields of activity are in Austria, Europe and internationally in priority countries.
