EU funding for youth organisations and young people First European Solidarity Corps 2021 call published, Austria expects more than 2 million euros for 2021. Young people aged 18 to 30 are the target group of the European Solidarity Corps, which is now entering its second programme phase lasting from 2021 to 2027. This EU programme offers young people the opportunity to get involved in volunteering and solidarity projects. The OeAD, Agency for Education and Internationalisation, is responsible for the implementation of the programme in Austria. Austria expects more than 2 million euros in 2021. Young people can do volunteer placements of 2 to 12 months all over Europe. A volunteering placement, for example with a non-profit organisation in a programme country or a partner country, benefits both the young people and the local community. Furthermore, in solidarity projects young people can jointly implement their own ideas that help other people. The European Solidarity Corps supports in particular the inclusion in projects of young people with fewer opportunities. Organisations and companies will receive special support for this in the European Solidarity Corps. In addition to the easily accessible and low-threshold offers there is also financial assistance to enable as many interested people as possible to participate. Jakob Calice, the OeAD’s managing director: “Inclusion and participation in international activities for young people are particularly important to the OeAD. The opportunities that the Solidarity Corps provides offer the chance to get involved personally and socially and thus also to strengthen the European idea.” Institutions from Austria can apply for solidarity projects and volunteer projects in two rounds of application until 28 May 2021 and 5 October 2021 (application always closes at 12 o’clock). Information is available from the OeAD, which has been commissioned as national agency for the European Solidarity Corps. https://www.solidaritaetskorps.at/europaeisches-solidaritaetskorps-aufruf-zur-einreichung-von-vorschlaegen/ www.oead.at
